Where Discovery Becomes Diagnostic.

History

The Daisy charity has played a significant role in advancing the local research community, establishing itself as a major contributor and driving key improvements in medical research infrastructure.

Molecular Research Imaging Centre: The Daisy Charity's Role

Among its notable achievements is the development of a fully integrated PET CT scanning service, which directly benefits local patients by enhancing diagnostic capabilities and access to advanced imaging technologies.

Our Molecular Research Imaging Centre exemplifies a ‘lab to bedside’ approach, ensuring that new radiotracers developed through research are swiftly translated into clinical practice. This integrated process helps to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and patient care, making innovative diagnostics readily available.

Furthermore, the environment fostered by The Daisy Appeal has been instrumental in attracting and retaining highly skilled clinical and scientific staff. By providing a supportive and forward-thinking setting, the charity enables excellence in both research and patient care within the region.

Accurate diagnoses for cancer, heart disease, and dementia

The Daisy Appeal was founded with the aim of funding cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. We exist to give faster, more accurate, diagnosis for three of the region’s biggest killers – cancer, heart disease, and dementia. Early diagnosis using advanced medical techniques like PET imaging, can significantly improve survival and quality of life, as we move towards better treatments to manage, and hopefully cure, these diseases.
